Update on Repairs and Renovations to Hillsboro's Old Stone School
Basement

Water from the fire fighting process ended up in the basement, which has caused problems with excess moisture and mold.

The basement was cleaned out, and de-humidifiers run to reduce the excess moisture from the area. The plywood covering the windows in the basement has been taken down to help air it out. The windows will be replaced, and other improvements and repairs made to make the space more useable. Additionally, some equipment necessary for the building to improve efficiency, safety, and usability, will be moved to the basement. The HCA is considering other renovations to make the basement available as a utility kitchen as well as for storage so other parts of the building may be available to renters instead of being used for storage.

Remember that you can help with our repairs and renovations by making a donation today!
