The HCA's 2008 Christmas in Hillsboro Homes Tour and Annual Craft Fair!
The HCA's annual craft fair was held in the Old Stone School on December 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with high-quality crafts. The Christmas in Hillsboro Homes Tour was the same day, featuring four historic homes in the Hillsboro area beautifully decorated with fresh greens for the holidays.
See photos and desriptions of each home below.
The homes were on tour from noon to 6:00 p.m., with candlelight tours at 3:00. During the candlelight tour, we enjoyed wonderful holiday songs by The Chorus of the Old Dominion.
On the day of the tour, Homes Tour ticket holders were able to enjoy speical offers from local businesses including Hunt Country Jewelers, New Life Antiques, Breaux Vineyards, Grandale Farm Restaurant, Stonehedge Restoration and Antiques, Hill Tom Market, and Gardens of Delight (in Paeonian Springs).
To prepare for the Homes Tour, we had a Greens Workshop where we made the beautiful decorations that were displayed in each of the grand homes on tour this year. More than 50 volunteers came to help! Additionally about 40 volunteers were hosts and hostesses at the homes to provide our guests with a history of the homes and interesting information about items in each room.
We'd like to extend a special thank you to our Christmas in Hillsboro Homes Tour sponsors and
