2011 Holiday Season at the Old Stone School
Greens Workshop More than 30 people came to learn how to make decorations using fresh greens like those on the Christmas in Hillsboro Homes Tour! They made wreaths and arrangements, and purchased what they made to decorate their own homes. See photos from the 2011 Greens Workshop!

Town Tree Lighting and Potluck After the Greens Workshop, we had the second annual Town Tree Lighting and Potluck, a wonderful new community tradition!

Annual Holiday Craft Fair Nearly 40 skilled artisans had their crafts on sale...pottery, jewelry, holidays decorations, and more at the Old Stone School and at Hillsboro Elementary School! Old Time Country Dance, January 21
The Bluemont Concert Series is hosting an old time country dance at the Old Stone School on January 21 starting at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person or $7 for students, seniors, and Bluemont members. Additional dances will be held February 18, March 17, April 21, and May 19.

Ki Aikido-- M/W 7p - 9p
A non-competitive and non-violent Japanese defensive martial art based on the philosophy of being in harmony, rather than conflict, with your opponent. This is a non-profit organization. For more, visit www.loudounaikido.org.

Annual Membership and Fundraising Drive
Become a Friend of the Old Stone School by joining or renewing your membership to the HCA and by making a donation. Your tax-deductible dues and donations will help us in our efforts to restore the Old Stone School so it may continue to serve as the center of our community! Plus, HCA members are entitled to reduced rental rates, invitations to attend opening night performances of Run Rabbit Run Theatre productions at the Old Stone School free of charge, and other specials.

Successful Spring Celebration and First Old Stone School Reunion at Old Stone School
On April 18, 2010, more than 100 people joined us to celebrate the people who have contributed to the rich history of Hillsboro's Old Stone School. Read more about the Spring Celebration and the reunion.

Theatre at the Old Stone School!
We are thrilled to announce that the HCA has partnered with Run Rabbit Run Theatre to hold plays, musicals, and classes at the Old Stone School ! The first production was held December 3-19 with an original musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol called Once Upon A CHRISTMAS CAROL. In July 2011, they performed"All for the Union in Confederate Virginia."
