The Latest from the HCA!
Join us at Our Annual Independence Day Celebration, Friday July 3!

Mark your calendar to join us at the Hillsboro Community Association's annual Independence Day celebration, held at the Old Stone School on July 3. We're happy to welcome back the Hewn from the Mountain Band, who will perform live music during our celebration, along with the Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers who will perform on stage. The Ruritans will sell their delicious BBQ chicken dinners, and there will be free ice cream, games, a chance to win great prizes donated by local businesses, and more! And, of course, there will be fireworks! We're still accepting donations for the fireworks too. See photos from last year's celebration! To make a donation, please use our 2009 Membership and Donation Form and mail it with your tax-deductible check to the address on the form. Get more details about this year's festivities!

The Summer Issue of the HCA Monitor is out!
Our newsletter, the HCA Monitor, will soon be in your mailbox, but you can view it online now!

Become a Member of the HCA!
This is the time of year that we encourage friends of the Old Stone School to join or renew their membership to the Hillsboro Community Association to support our efforts to maintain and preserve the Old Stone School. And when you join this year, you will receive a 10% discount when you rent the building! To join or renew your membership, and to make a donation to the HCA or for the fireworks for our annual Independence Day celebration, just print and complete our 2009 Membership and Donation form, and mail it to the address on the form.

New Sign for Old Stone School!
We’re proud to have the time and talent of Life Scout Breton Geyer, Troop 711, who will be building a new sign to replace the old, rundown one in front of the building. Bret is doing this as his Eagle Scout project. He is planning to design the sign to match the architecture of the Old Stone School. The new sign will be a wonderful update to the grounds of the historic building, reflecting the renovations and improvements made since the fire.

Old Stone School Fall Potluck Celebration
This fall, when we have the finishing touches made to the Old Stone School, we will hold a big community potluck celebration with free entertainment. All are invited! Watch for details! See photos from the day of the fire to after repairs were completed.
